We need to have whole milk available in the schools as soon as possible. It is unbelievable that in the USA we do not have the freedom to choose what we want to drink.

On Thursday August 23, I attended a meeting with Secretary Purdue. I presented him with the figures of what farmers not only in NY but across the nation should have earned . The secretary seemed rather surprised at the figures I presented to him as he didn't seem to really know how hard the dairy industry had been hit the past four years.
We need a $20.00 floor price on all manufactured milk.
We need hearings across the country for farmers to be heard about the situations on their farms.
The money that the government is giving to the dairy Farmer is unbelievable, we have had record losses for four years and we are receiving pennies on losses for half of one year. This is just unexeptable, as the dairy Farmer again is the hardest hit and we receive the least amount back.
We also need to get whole milk back in our schools as children need the fat in the milk so their brains grow correct. We can't afford to lose another generation of milk drinkers due to this poor tasting milk we are trying to force on them.
I also support the testimony of Arden Tewksbury.

Whole milk is needed for your brain and healthy bones and teeth.

This is a great idea.
It should follow right along side that “only cows lactate and make no beans about it!!! “ lol
Beans do other things, but they don’t lactate!!
We must protect our dairy standards of identity and only allow cows ( or mammals ) milks to be labeled and sold as milk!
While milk contains good animal fats. These fats balance sugars and proteins and make minerals bio available.
Skim milk is to fatten pigs. Makes great bacon. Do we want to fatten our kids?
The fats found in whole milk are critical to the development of the brain and nervous system of growing children. We need this critically in the USA where brains have gone nuts. ( pun intended )
Lastly.... it tastes so much better.

This should be folded into the FARM BILL, or passed into law immediately. WHOLE MILK tastes better and school children should have the opportunity to drink it.

I strongly support getting whole milk back in our schools. The science is clear, whole milk is full of nutritients and keeps kids full longer. Brandon, Towanda,Pa

Well okay, this one is worth doing today. A federal milk market order could address this immediately exempting schools who want to joint the order from this Act.
If the legislature would hurry up and proceed with this, please get rid of the hokey title, ‘‘Wholesome Healthy Original Lactic Excellence Making Intelligent Literate Kids Act’ and replace it with a common sense one that establishes the legislature in this country is not so far removed from their heritage and roots that they think milk from a cow or a goat or a sheep is a toxic substance and only petri dish made, inspector approved manufactured artificial protein, sugar, fat, water, vitamins, and of yes, water and air patented and packed by a monopoly of investors controlling our consumption choices are safe to consume.
